- Reviewed all heavy lift plans from transport at fabricator to installed at the Refinery, a 6 month process.
- Identified incorrect rigging components issued to site and ensured replacement.
- Oversaw civil changes at site to meet heavy lift requirements, including increased allowable GBP after testing.
- Arranged use of steel plate to support skid system and crane Superlift improve system performance.
- Analyzed a range of techniques: SPMT, Floating Crane, Barging/ Securement, Crawler Crane, Jacking, Skidding.
Scope of Work description:
Lowther-Rolton provided Technical Audit and Safety check for the 490,000-pound Third Stage Separator during the following operations:
- Transport from fabricator workshop to quay
- Lift to barge using floating crane
- Stowage and securing onboard hopper barge
- Offload using crawler crane at BP Quay
- Transport and place in storage
- Transport to refinery
- Lift over two live piperacks
- Skid under 2 live piperacks in 4’ deep trench
- Transport to refinery.
- Remove old vessel in two parts
- Install new vessel
