  • Reviewed all heavy lift plans from transport at fabricator to installed at the Refinery, a 6 month process.
  • Identified incorrect rigging components issued to site and ensured replacement.
  • Oversaw civil changes at site to meet heavy lift requirements, including increased allowable GBP after testing.
  • Arranged use of steel plate to support skid system and crane Superlift improve system performance.
  • Analyzed a range of techniques: SPMT, Floating Crane, Barging/ Securement, Crawler Crane, Jacking, Skidding.

Scope of Work description:

Lowther-Rolton provided Technical Audit and Safety check for the 490,000-pound Third Stage Separator during the following operations:

  • Transport from fabricator workshop to quay
  • Lift to barge using floating crane
  • Stowage and securing onboard hopper barge
  • Offload using crawler crane at BP Quay
  • Transport and place in storage
  • Transport to refinery
  • Lift over two live piperacks
  • Skid under 2 live piperacks in 4’ deep trench
  • Transport to refinery.
  • Remove old vessel in two parts
  • Install new vessel
